How big is that sofa in the window?
Where sofas are concerned size does matter - and big isn’t necessarily better.
Get a tape measure out and work out your preferred width (side to side) and depth (front to back). You may want to think about the height of the sofa too, if it needs to go in front of a window for example. Remember: sofas often look smaller in a picture, or even in a showroom, than they are in a real setting.
Once you’ve narrowed down a style you can either mark the ‘footprint’ of the sofa with masking tape on the floor, or make a newspaper template. A template is easy to move around and so is particularly helpful when you are trying to decide where to put your new sofa.
